We are seeking an Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounting operations, document control, audits, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. You will ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, while supporting the business with timely and accurate financial insights.
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge in accounting processes and a solid understanding of banking operations and financial practices.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations:
• Post daily journal entries, purchase vouchers, and payment vouchers
• Process invoices for payment which system transaction entry, getting all
required documentation and getting the appropriate approvals.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize account information
• Reconcile Client Money ‘premiums’ with the clients, gateway company, service
providers and tellers
• Reconcile and recalculate commission refunds
• Generate debit note, credit notes, statement of accounts to the clients
• Analyze transactions and develop periodic reports for management
• Make sure that invoices are booked to the right accounting code.
• VAT Reporting and assist in VAT filing
• Arrange daily meetings with the product owners and relevant stakeholders for
financial reporting and business requirements
Document Control:
• Update accounting records (digital and physical)
• Make sure that invoices are submitted with supporting documents supporting
documents scanned and attached with the transaction entry in soft and hard
copies
• Document accounting policies and procedures
• Keep information confidential and secure with regular database backups
• Ensuring that deliverables/timesheets are approved by respective project
managers.
Audit Controls:
• Liaise with clients, banks, gateway companies in case of any discrepancies
• Assist in the Financial Reporting and ensure compliance with IFRS as well as
IA standards
• Liaise with external auditor, insurance authority as well as internal auditor to
conduct the audit
• Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents and
expenditures
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Collaborate with Development team in the analysis, design and UAT phase of
system development life cycle
• Monitor the effectiveness of internal controls applied over financial reporting on
the implemented software
Reporting and Month End Closing:
• Post-closing entries on monthly basis
• Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements
• Publish timely financial statements
• Conduct the month end and year end closing process
Stakeholder Management:
• Coordinate with business units to ensure that invoices are settled within the payment term and help to obtain required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- More than 5 years of accounting or financial operations experience.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT reporting, and audit procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in banking or financial services is an advantage.
- Available to work on-site in Abu Dhabi office.
