
Job Description
Responsibilities
To perform the professional duties of a Cardiologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as
recommended by the credential committee.
3.2 To perform his duties in the Cardiology outpatient clinic evaluating patients with cardiovascular disease.
3.3 To provide consultation services to inpatient in his area of expertise (Cardiology)
3.4 To oversee operation of the cardiac catheterization laboratory including the ongoing training of technician.
3.5 To oversee the operation of the Invasive and Non Invasive Cardiac Diagnostic Laboratories ( ECG,TEE,
Stress Test, 2D Echo, Cardiac Catheterization and Coronary Angiography, Coronary Angioplasty)
3.6 Provides on-call emergency coverage for Cardiology Emergencies including performance of primary
angioplasty / stinting, emergency pericardiocenteses, balloon valvotomies and IABP insertion.
3.7 To provide care to In-patients admitted under his / her care.
3.8 Supports Continuous Quality Improvement. Develops and promotes appropriate standards of care.
3.9 Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information and regarding administrative matters of a confidential
nature.
3.10 Evidences dependability in carrying out the commitments and obligations of the position.
3.11 Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
3.12 Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for
them.
3.13 Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of the Department.
3.14 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital
management to comply those requirements
3.15 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
3.16 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
3.17 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk
assessments, incident reports
3.18 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies
3.19 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
3.20 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems
Qualifications
4.1 Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship and three years of residency;
certification by the American Board of Cardiology or Member of the
4.2 Royal College of Physicians (or its equivalent).
4.3 At least five years of practice as an interventional cardiologist as a licensed specialist.
4.4 Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
4.5 Current licensure in country of origin and with HAAD license as a specialist interventional cardiologist to practice
in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
4.6 Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients and families.
