
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our client’s finance team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger, supporting month-end closing activities, reconciling accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS and UAE local regulations, and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and oversee all general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely posting of entries.
- Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and other GL accounts.
- Prepare and post accruals, provisions, and adjustments as part of month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Lead the preparation of yearly budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze variances between budgeted and actual figures and provide management with actionable insights.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with the Tax & GA team to ensure accurate VAT filings and compliance with UAE /KSA tax regulations.
- Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
- Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures aligned with IFRS and UAE/KSA regulations.
- Recommend and drive process improvements to enhance accounting operations.
- Review operating expenses and collaborate with departments to ensure correct cost allocation.
- Ensure proper matching and reconciliation between AP, AR, and the GL.
- Conduct periodic data accuracy reviews across accounting systems and promptly correct discrepancies.
- Collaborate closely with Tax, Treasury, and Reporting teams to ensure consistent financial practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA/ACCA certification preferred).
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics
- Experience in multi-entity and multi-currency accounting within a regional or international group.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial matters to non-financial stakeholders.
