Job Description

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Records & Coding Officer to join our healthcare team in Abha. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential patient medical records while ensuring correct medical coding to support billing, compliance, and revenue cycle operations.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, Medical Coding, or a related field.

• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in medical records management and/or medical coding within a healthcare environment.

• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical documentation standards, and healthcare regulations.

• Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems.

• Experience using EMR/HIS systems and medical coding software.

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Ability to handle confidential patient information with integrity.

• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.

• Strong communication and coordination skills.

• Fluency in Arabic is required; English proficiency is preferred.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Maintain, organize, and update patient medical records accurately and timely.

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of clinical documentation in coordination with physicians and nursing staff.

• Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes in compliance with coding standards and payer requirements.

• Support billing and revenue cycle teams with correct coding information.

• Identify and correct documentation or coding discrepancies.

• Assist in resolving insurance claim denials related to documentation or coding issues.

• Ensure confidentiality, security, and proper release of medical records.

• Support audits, inspections, and accreditation requirements (e.g., CBAHI).

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations and healthcare documentation standards.

• Report documentation or coding issues to management.
