Job Description
Responsibilities –
- Perform day-to-day SIS operations including setup, validation, and maintenance of student and academic data
- Configure and maintain
- Academic programs and study plans
- Course catalog and prerequisites
- Registration rules and term setup
- GPA and academic standing rules
- Degree audit rules (as assigned)
- Process and validate student record transactions including:
- Registration adjustments
- Course substitutions and waivers
- Academic standing updates
- Program changes
- Graduation eligibility checks
- Conduct routine data validation and reconciliation to ensure system accuracy and integrity.
- Support graduation clearance processes by validating completion of study plan requirements and credit hour compliance.
- Assist in academic calendar rollovers and catalog year updates.
- Monitor and resolve system-generated errors, prerequisite conflicts, and registration issues.
- Escalate complex system configuration or policy interpretation matters to the Assistant Manager – SIS.
Data Integrity and Compliance –
- Ensure accurate data entry in alignment with approved academic policies and curriculum documentation
- Support compliance with MOE/MOHESR and accreditation requirements related to student records and graduation certification
- Participate in internal audits and data quality reviews
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to institutional data protection policies.
System Support & Enhancement –
- Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) for SIS upgrades and enhancements.
- Provide functional feedback on system improvements and automation initiatives.
- Support integration processes between SIS and other systems (LMS, Finance, HR) as required.
- Maintain updated documentation of SIS processes and workflows.
Stakeholder Support –
- Provide functional support to Registration, Academic Services, and campus staff.
- Respond to system-related queries from faculty and administrative users.
- Deliver guidance on correct system usage and adherence to academic rules.
- Support training sessions related to SIS processes when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in Student Information Systems, academic records, registration operations, or enterprise system support within higher education (preferably in the UAE or GCC).
- Understanding of academic program structures and study plans.
- Knowledge of UAE higher education regulations (MOE/MOHESR).
- Familiarity with SIS platforms (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, Colleague, or equivalent).
- Understanding of degree audit and graduation processes.
- Basic knowledge of data governance and reporting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
