Job Description

The role is at KRE8+, an applied research and development center under HCT, focused on smart sensor-integrated systems for industrial application. They support industry with high-tech practical solutions through applied research, offering specialist expertise, equipment and collaborative project execution.

The job objective is to advance automation, smart machines, and sensor-integrated systems for industrial applications. The ideal candidate has a strong research background in developing intelligent automated systems for both industry and research organizations.

Strategic Role

• Advance the reputation of KRE8+ Research Center as a leading applied research center for industrial applications.
• Lead applied research and development activities in the field of mechatronics and robotics.

Operational Role

• Conduct cutting edge research in the field of mechatronics and robotics, supporting industry projects
• Drive innovation for industrial applications
• Practical implementation support for KRE8+ projects that require sensor integration, i.e. mechanical design, electronic design, CAD, CAM, integration and testing.
• Advise and support faculty on best practices for mechatronics and robotics
• Suggest meaningful sophomore projects for HCT students related to robotics

Leadership Role

• Contribute to academic course materials on mechatronics and robotics.

Qualifications

• PhD (preferred) or Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechatronics or a related field from a recognized university.
• Advanced expertise in relevant modelling and simulation software
• Innovative mindset

Experience

• Minimum 5-7 years of industry experience in developing smart systems and automation solutions.
• Strong proficiency in 3D modeling, CAM, and simulation software.
• Practical experience with 3D printing, PLC programming, pneumatics, Robotics and mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams in research and development.
