Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

• Accurately dispense medications based on prescriptions from hospital departments, ensuring compliance with all hospital and regulatory policies.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to manage medication returns, review medication carts for accuracy, and confirm the daily medication doses administered, promoting a high level of medication safety and effectiveness.
• Monitor hospital admission systems for changes in medication orders and review daily medication doses administered by nursing staff to ensure adherence to prescribed regimens.
• Conduct regular and thorough inventory counts, generate medication orders to maintain optimal stock levels, and supervise the receipt of medications to ensure they meet all required standards before being added to the pharmacy inventory.
• Act as a liaison between various departments to coordinate patient care and medication needs, facilitating seamless communication and operational efficiency.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of medication orders upon patient discharge, ensuring all medications are appropriately accounted for and any pending charges are added to the patient’s account, facilitating a smooth transition from hospital to home.
• Regularly inspect medication-related equipment, such as the crash cart, medication carts, and floor stock, to ensure they meet all safety and quality standards, contributing to the overall safety of the medication use process.
• Conduct regular audits of controlled substances inventory in Narcotic and report any discrepancies to the Pharmacy Manager.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree Pharmacy.
• 2-4 years of experience.
