
Note:
This position is offered on a contractual basis and will be for a limited period. The contract will remain valid until the completion of the project.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Implement occupational safety policies and procedures in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor hazardous behaviors and identify potential risks in the workplace, taking necessary preventive measures.
• Evaluate work-related accidents and injuries and prepare appropriate reports for management.
• Conduct training and awareness on work hazards and necessary safety procedures for workers, ensuring they understand safe practices and procedures. Transfer safety awareness messages to site and general employees to improve safety culture.
• Investigate accidents and participate in weekly accident review meetings.
• Suggest safety solutions to reduce risks and prevent accidents.
• Implement new safety initiatives from the company such as Energy Wheel, FLL meeting, CIC scan.
• Ensure site readiness for internal and external safety inspections, including SIHS inspections, environmental checks, insurance, IMS, government visits, supplier meetings, contractor meetings.
• Review and update safety procedures and policies implemented by all departments (MTC, operations, projects, contractors, etc.).
• Conduct internal IMS inspections, perform weekly GEMBA checks, conduct general occupational safety inspections, analyze results, make necessary recommendations, identify root causes of non-compliance, and participate in CAPA development.
• Represent IMS management and the safety specialist appointed by the company, approved by the Ministry of Labor.
• Analyze, design, document, monitor, audit, and measure performance indicators for processes.
• Implement emergency evacuation plans and provide necessary training for employees to effectively handle emergency situations.
• Ensure availability and readiness of firefighting equipment and safety equipment at the site, conducting regular inspections and maintenance.
• Coordinate and conduct evacuation and rapid response team drills to ensure readiness to handle emergency situations.
• Ensure compliance of employees and visitors with smoking prevention policies in designated areas.
• Verify the availability of health and safety systems for fire protection and ensure they are operational in emergencies.
• Ensure that pedestrian walkways and clear passageways are provided to ensure safe movement for employees and visitors within the facility.
• Implement and enforce speed limits for vehicles to maintain safe driving practices and prevent accidents.
• Install traffic signs, signals, and mirrors at critical points to enhance visibility, improve traffic flow, and promote a safe environment.
• Conduct periodic training sessions for pedestrians and vehicle drivers to raise awareness of traffic laws and safe behaviors.
• Conduct periodic safety audits and checks to assess compliance with traffic laws and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and publish safety guidelines and policies to educate employees on best practices for pedestrian-vehicle interaction.
• Implement procedures to separate pedestrian and vehicle pathways to minimize the risk of accidents and ensure a safer work environment.
• Investigate any traffic accidents immediately and take corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure the availability and readiness of safety equipment for machinery and vehicles, and instruct users on how to use them safely.
• Follow up on maintenance records and ensure that machinery undergoes regular technical inspections to maintain readiness and safety.
• Identify potential hazards related to machinery and vehicles, take necessary actions to mitigate them, and avoid accidents.

Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
Professional Certifications and Training:
• Accreditation certificate from the Ministry of Labor for Specialist Supervisor
• Professional certifications such as: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) certifications, and others.
Work Experience:
• At least 3 years of experience as an engineer or 6 years as a technician in the field of occupational health and safety in hazardous industries, with a Bachelor's degree.
Required Knowledge:
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and procedures.
• Ability to analyze risks and apply appropriate preventive measures in various work environments, including industrial settings, construction projects, and others.
• Strong communication and training skills to raise employee awareness about occupational health and safety.
• Excellent knowledge in risk assessment and management.
