We are looking for an Anaesthesia Technician!

Role Description

To provide technical and operational support to anaesthesiologists and anaesthesia providers in accordance with the DHA Scope of Practice for Anaesthesia Technologists / Technicians, ensuring that all anaesthesia equipment, monitoring systems, and consumables are ready, functional, and safely handled to support patient care.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and check anaesthesia machines, ventilators, and monitoring equipment prior to use.

Assist anaesthesiologists in administering anaesthesia and monitoring patients.

Maintain and calibrate anaesthesia equipment, vaporizers, and gas delivery systems. Ensure availability and sterility of anaesthesia-related consumables and airway devices. Monitor supply levels of anaesthesia drugs and materials; maintain proper storage and labelling.

Assist in patient positioning, transport, and recovery under the direction of anaesthesia staff. Participate in emergency response situations (e.g., resuscitation, airway management). Document equipment usage, maintenance, and any technical incidents.

Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies at all times.

Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma/Certification in Anesthesia Technology or equivalent.

1–2 years’ experience in operating theatre/anesthesia support (preferred).

Knowledge of anesthesia machines, gases, monitoring systems, and safety protocols. BLS certification (mandatory); ACLS preferred
