Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1.Complies and adheres to the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff, departmental and clinical policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvements objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards; and abide by the rules and regulations of the College of Medicine.

2.Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for his/her patients.

3.Carries out full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as assigned by the Chairman of the department in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges.

4.Reviews, examines, diagnose, treats and refers patients by conducting interviews, performing physical examination; creating, updating and studying patients’ medical records.

5.Collects, records, and maintains patient information and documentation such as medical history, reports, and examination results.

6.Performs and carries out on-call duties within a reasonable period of time as required by the department.

7.Protects patients and colleagues by promoting awareness and adhering to infection control policies and standard protocols.

8.Mentors and teaches staff, trainees and students for training and education purposes.

9.Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Quality Management Program, Quality Assessment Improvement Program) as required.

10.Participates in and actively supports research projects and activities.

11.Deputizes for his/her superior as required and shares workload in his/her specialty during the absence of colleagues.

12.Undertakes continuous medical education as required of Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and KSUMC to improve clinical expertise and develops professional and technical medical knowledge; Maintains awareness of new medical techniques, medications and medical technologies.

13.Participates in the forward planning and implementation for further development of the department and assists in updating protocols and principles of medical practices as appropriate.

14.Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of KSUMC, as indicated.

15.Performs multiple aspects of scope of practice and adheres to clinical privileges of the department as determined by King Saud University Medical City.

16.Builds and maintains a harmonious relationship with their patients and establish a strong professional environment with other health care members and other physicians.

17.Serves in KSUMC Committees as requested.

18.Writes an official delegation of all responsibilities and assignments prior to leave / vacation.

19.Performs other job related duties as required.


 

Qualification:

-Graduate form a recognized medical school.

-Saudi Board or equivalent qualification in the desired speciality.

-Valid License from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.


 

Experience:

One (1) year specialized professional post qualification experience in the desired specialty in a recognized center or hospital.

License: Saudi Board or equivalent qualification in the desired speciality. Valid License from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
