Job Description

Position Overview:

To provide a high quality, comprehensive, efficient and costeffective Pediatric Nephrology services for King’s College Hospital-Dubai

  • The post-holder will:
  • Diagnose, manage and treat kidney and urinary tract disorders in children, including kidney failure, high blood pressure, and inherited kidney diseases. They also manage patients requiring dialysis or kidney transplantation, and may be involved in prenatal counseling for developmental kidney issues.
  • Provide specialized care for Identifying and managing a wide range of kidney and urinary tract conditions in children, from prenatal diagnoses to end-stage renal disease.
  • Develop and implement treatment protocols to enhance clinical outcomes in pediatric Nephrology.
  • Participate in research and contribute to advancements in kidney diseases and urinary tract disorders in children.
  • Educate patients, families, and medical staff about pediatric kidney conditions and treatment options.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, patient safety, and healthcare regulations in pediatric nephrology practice.

Accountabilities:

  • Compliance with health and safety and security requirements.
  • Provide an expert Pediatric Nephorlogy opinion on patients being investigated and treated in King’s College Hospital-Dubai clinical facilities.
  • Diagnose and treat patients according to established standards of best practice in Paediatric Nephrology.
  • Comply with the established King’s College Hospital-Dubai practices.
  • Comply with the requirements of the regulatory UAE medical health authorities with respect to all professional practices.
  • Accurately document all relevant patient information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with King’s College Hospital-Dubai health record keeping policy.
  • Liaise with the medical and surgical specialities and professional support services for expert support as required.
  • Work effectively and efficiently within the team structure of the King’s College Hospital-Dubai treatment centre by maintaining a good working relationship with other members of staff, promoting collaboration and adopting a team-based approach to patient care.
  • Implement, support and follow all clinic initiatives, policies and procedures.
  • Practice only within the privileges granted by King’s College Hospital-Dubai and UAE medical health authorities.

Qualification:

  • MBBS or MD
  • CCT or completion of a recognised specialist training programme and 5 years minimum experience post CCT.
  • UAE Medical Health Authority License
  • Resuscitation as per the specialty
  • Has worked in hospital or similar setting for at least 7 years
