The Lead Patient Administrator will provide leadership, training, and support to the Patient Administration team at King’s College Hospital (KCH), ensuring high-quality standards and patient satisfaction. This role oversees front desk workflows, standardizes outpatient processes, and serves as the primary point of contact for resolving administrative issues and patient complaints. Additional responsibilities include quality assurance activities, staff training, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, maintain quality standards, manage workflows, and resolve administrative issues.
  • Staff Management & Scheduling: Develop rosters, conduct training, and support team development.
  • Policy & Compliance: Ensure adherence to hospital policies, manage documentation, and assist with policy updates.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in any discipline; a Master’s or postgraduate qualification is highly advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years of customer service/reception experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong customer care skills and excellent face-to-face communication.
  • Team leader or supervisory experience is highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, including performance oversight and staff development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and commitment to quality patient care.
  • Empathy and professionalism in patient interactions.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage unexpected issues.
  • Proficient in digital documentation and workflow management.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
