Job Description
Demonstrates integration of the unique knowledge and technical skills required for the
specialty as per the role specific clinical practice definition in Appendix 1 and the SEHA
competency and training matrix.
Technical skills required for this area as outlined in Clinical Competency and Training
Matrix and/or the department/unit Scope of Service.
Endoscopy nurses provide comprehensive pre-procedure
assessments, patient and family education, IV access, medication
administration and responds promptly to adverse reactions and
emergency situations.
– They assist physicians during procedures, manage equipment
safely, monitor vital signs, respond to emergencies, and oversee
post-procedure recovery, discharge readiness, and follow-up care.
Responsibilities
In conjunction with, but not limited to, the Manager / Charge Nurse / CRN, identifies
own professional learning needs and develops a learning plan as required.
Participates in self and peer evaluation including reflective practice.
Initiates or participates in clinical research that contributes to continual improvement in
standards of care.
Develops and maintains own Professional Portfolio
Obtains accredited and non-accredited Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Units in
compliance with DOH requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or Associate degree in Nursing from Canada or USA with minimum two (2) years course duration and DOH License or eligibility .
