Senior Researcher – Applied Computer Vision

The role is at KRE8+, an applied research and development center under HCT, focused on smart sensor integrated systems for industrial application. They support industry with high-tech practical solutions through applied research, offering specialist expertise, equipment and collaborative project execution.

The job objective is to lead applied research and development activities in the field of applied computer vision for industrial applications.

The ideal candidate has a strong research background and practical industry experience in developing and implementing cutting-edge computer vision solutions.

Main Responsibilities

• Advance the reputation of KRE8+ Research Center as a leading applied research center for industrial applications
• Lead applied research and development activities in the field of applied computer vision for industrial applications.
• Conduct cutting edge research in the field of applied computer vision supporting industry projects
• Develop innovative industrial applications for computer vision
• Practical implementation support for KRE8+ projects that require computer vision
• Advise and support faculty on matters related to the best practices around applied computer vision.
• Suggest meaningful sophomore projects for HCT students related to computer vision
• Contribute to academic course materials on applied computer vision

Qualifications

• PhD (preferred) or Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in AI, IoT, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a
• related field from a recognized university.
• Proven track record in researching and developing computer vision products for industrial applications.
• Experience in both academic research and industrial settings is highly desirable.

Experience

• Minimum 5-7 years of industry experience implementing computer vision
• Experience collaborating with research organizations and industry partners to drive innovation.
• Strong hands-on experience with AI and computer vision applications such as (OpenCV, Pytorch,
• Python, YOLOv8, and Rob flow)
• Ability to lead the end-to-end development of a computer vision products from concept to production.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead or mentor a team.
