Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures through his/her actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the NMC & Its Business units.
  • Answers phone calls and directs callers appropriately.
  • Meets and greets all visitors and directs them to locations within FHCC.
  • Directs outpatients to the appropriate disciplines, ie OPD clinics and Labs.
  • Opening files for new patients and recording the pertained data of the patient.
  • Checking the financial coverage of the patient and the required documents.
  • Collecting payments from patients and sending them to the General Cashier on daily basis.
  • Answering the inquiries of patients and visitors.
  • Receives requests for physician time from patients, physicians, nurses and other clinic personnel. Schedules and manipulates professional time for patients with objective of optimizing utilization of time and schedules.
  • Operates computer for scheduling patients and checking their eligibility for treatment.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring logbook; issuing visitor badges.
  • Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Follows all department policies and procedures.
  • Participates in on-going education program developed by the department, e.g. department policies and procedures, Fire and Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Control.
  • Complies with CARE dress code.
  • Performs applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills and duties.

Experience:

  • One (1) year of recent experience working in a medium to large health care facility in a reception or clerical capacity
  • Exhibits courtesy, cooperation and respect towards patients, visitors, physicians and co-employees.
  • Customer Care skills.
