About the Role

Reem Hospital is seeking a skilled Anesthesia Specialist on a part-time/locum basis to support our team. You’ll cover scheduled shifts as needed, delivering safe, evidence-based anesthesia care for both adult and pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct preoperative assessments (history, physical exam, ASA classification) and develop individualized anesthesia plans.
Provide general, regional (spinal/epidural/peripheral nerve blocks), or monitored anesthesia care during assigned shifts.
Manage airway placement and ventilation (intubation, LMA, sedation), adjusting anesthetic depth based on hemodynamic monitoring (BP, HR, SpO₂, EtCO₂).
Operate and troubleshoot anesthesia machines, vaporizers, infusion pumps, and monitoring equipment.
Oversee emergence—ensure stable airway, adequate ventilation, and effective postoperative pain control.
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, ICU, and pharmacy teams for seamless, multidisciplinary patient care during locum assignments.
Adhere to Reem Hospital’s anesthesia protocols, participate in periodic audits, and maintain accurate EMR documentation.
Provide on-shift mentoring to anesthesia residents and nurses, sharing best practices in real time.

Qualifications & Experience

MBBS (or equivalent) + Specialization in anesthesiology with DOH-Licence or DOH eligibility letter.
3–5 years’ experience as an Anesthesia Specialist.
Proficiency in advanced airway management, ultrasound-guided regional techniques, and hemodynamic monitoring.
Strong communication skills—able to explain anesthesia plans clearly to patients and the OR team.
Detail-oriented and adaptable—ready to step in and perform seamlessly across different OR suites.
