Job Description

Westlakes Recruit is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer (Saudi National) to support the NEOM The Line project on a permanent basis in KSA.

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in building services to join our team. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience designing and implementing mechanical systems for diverse building projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments. This role involves ensuring mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection meet performance, efficiency, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design mechanical systems for buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other critical systems.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, including drawings, calculations, and specifications, aligned with client requirements and applicable building codes.
• Perform system sizing, load calculations, and energy modelling to optimize performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and structural engineers to seamlessly integrate mechanical systems into building designs.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions, verify measurements, and evaluate design feasibility.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to clarify design requirements, provide technical support, and ensure smooth project execution.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Stay updated on the latest design software, industry practices, and regulatory changes.
• Perform design reviews and quality checks to maintain the accuracy and quality of deliverables.
• Incorporate energy-efficient systems and sustainable technologies, such as renewable energy solutions, into designs.
• Support building certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM) by designing environmentally responsible systems.
• Provide technical assistance during the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Address design issues during construction and suggest practical solutions.
• Conduct site inspections and performance testing to ensure systems meet design specifications.
• Maintain thorough documentation of designs, system specifications, and calculations.
• Prepare and present reports for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements:

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience (essential)
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in building services or HVAC design.
• Proficiency in mechanical design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) and their integration into building designs.
• In-depth knowledge of local building codes, standards (e.g., ASHRAE, CIBSE), and mechanical system regulations.
• Experience with commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
• Familiarity with sustainable building practices, energy efficiency measures, and green certifications (LEED, BREEAM) is an advantage.

Desired Skills:
• Expertise in BIM (Building Information Modelling) for mechanical systems design.
• Experience with energy modelling and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of commissioning and testing procedures for mechanical systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary:
SAR 18,000 to 19,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
